Geographic Scope

The Edwards & Muzquiz Health Foundation (EMHF) is a philanthropic force for good. Through strategic humanitarian investments, grants, and scholarships, we are determined to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve by fulfilling our mission.

At EMHF, our commitment to building stronger and more resilient communities is rooted in the belief that preparedness saves lives. While our values transcend borders, our geographic focus is the United States—where underserved communities face disproportionate risks during disasters. According to FEMA’s 2024 National Household Survey, 30% of Americans worry that a disaster may affect them or their family, and cost remains the top barrier to preparedness for 26% of respondents. These challenges are even more pronounced in under-resourced areas, where access to emergency planning tools and support is limited.

Our U.S. initiative includes a growing network of first responders, emergency managers, and partner organizations who support EMHF’s vision. Together, we work closely with local, county, state, regional, and federal agencies to ensure that medically underserved populations receive the resources they need to plan, prepare, respond, survive, and recover from natural disasters, crises, and public health emergencies.
